Job Description

Technical Supervision (Supervisor S-1): These roles act as the bridge between management and the shop floor. Supervisors in Mechanical, Electrical, and Metallurgy are responsible for overseeing production lines, ensuring machinery uptime, and managing quality control protocols for coin and medal manufacturing.

Artistic Precision (Engraver): This is a specialized creative role focused on the physical "face" of the products. Engravers use sculpture and metalwork skills to design, carve, and maintain the high-detail dies used for striking coins and commemorative medals.

Clerical & Data Support (Jr. Office/Bullion Assistant): These positions handle the essential "back-office" of the Mint. While Office Assistants manage general administration, Bullion Assistants specifically handle the documentation, accounting, and movement of precious metals (gold/silver) within the facility.

Shop-Floor Operations (Jr. Technician W-1): Technicians (Fitters, Turners, Electricians) are the hands-on workforce. They operate heavy industrial machinery, perform routine maintenance, and ensure the physical assembly of components remains within strict engineering tolerances.

Chemical & Metallurgical Analysis (Assay/Lab Assistant): Working primarily in the laboratory, these staff members conduct chemical tests and assays to verify the purity and composition of metals. This ensures every batch of alloy meets the legal standards for government-issued currency.

Specialized Craftsmanship (Goldsmith/Melter): Unlike standard industrial roles, these positions require traditional craft skills combined with industrial furnace operations. Melters manage the high-temperature melting of metal alloys, while Goldsmiths perform precision finishing on precious metal items.

Linguistic & Communication Support (Jr. Hindi Typist): This role ensures the Mint’s compliance with official language policies, handling the translation, typing, and filing of documents in Hindi to facilitate government communication.

Strict Selection & Standardized Pay: All positions are selected through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by specific skill tests (like typing or trade tests). Once hired, employees enter the IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) pay scale, ranging from approximately ₹18,780 for Technicians to ₹95,910 for Supervisors.
