Job Description

Sample Collection and Processing: Collecting blood, urine, and other biological samples from patients at the facility (such as a PHC, CHC, or District Hospital) and ensuring they are properly labeled and stored.

Diagnostic Testing: Performing various clinical laboratory tests, including biochemistry, hematology, and serology, to assist medical officers in diagnosing diseases like Malaria, Tuberculosis, or COVID-19.

Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all tests performed in registers or digital portals, and ensuring that test reports are delivered to patients or doctors in a timely manner.

Equipment Maintenance: Operating and maintaining laboratory instruments (such as microscopes, centrifuges, and semi-auto analyzers) and ensuring they are calibrated regularly for accuracy.

Quality Control: Implementing internal quality control measures and participating in external quality assessment schemes to ensure the reliability of diagnostic results.

Bio-Medical Waste Management: Strictly adhering to safety protocols for the disposal of laboratory waste and hazardous materials to prevent cross-contamination and environmental hazards.

Inventory Management: Monitoring the stock levels of reagents, chemicals, and consumables, and raising requisitions for replenishment to ensure uninterrupted diagnostic services.

Public Health Support: Assisting in various National Health Programmes (NHP) by providing laboratory data for disease surveillance and participating in community health camps as directed by the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH).
